Developing the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs have long been the drivers of our economy. Yet, how are we properly preparing the next generation of entrepreneurs and job creators? A Gallup survey indicates nearly 91 percent of today’s youth have an entrepreneurial mindset including the ability to constantly generate ideas and the ability to take risks despite a fear of failure. Furthermore, 77 percent of middle school and high school students want to work for themselves, and 45 percent plan to start their own business at some point in their lives. However, less than 10 percent of these same youth are actively involved with or running a business now. Therefore, the key to equipping a new generation of young entrepreneurs is training—and not just any form of training.
